After a strenuous experience, C. B. Cook, nineteen years of this city, and Miss Blanche Dunn, aged sixteen of Cynthiana, were married here this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mattie Cook, mother of the groom.
The Cooks formerly lived at Cynthiana, where the present bride and groom were sweethearts. The young couple recently decided to get married, but the parents objected. Tuesday the lovers ran off to Paris and tried to get a license, but failed. They then went to two other county seats, but at each were refused license. They then made plans to go to Jeffersonville, Ind., to-day. Hearing of the latter scheme the mother of the groom called up the mother of the bride over the long distance telephone and secured a withdrawal of the objections and the young couple secured a license and were married here at once.
