Cole-Beacher Wedding Rites

Patricia Lee Beacher of RD3 Pottsville and 1st Lt. Robert Cole of Fort Polk, La., were united in marriage on June 9 at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, Saint Clair.

The Rev. Charles Long performed the 11 a.m. ceremony in a setting of pink and white carnations oh the altar. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Beacher.

Her husband's parents are Col. Glenn Cole (Ret.) and Mrs. Cole of Charleston, S.C. Mr. Beacher presented his daughter in marriage.

Her cousin, Mrs. Thelma Lowthert, Pascagoula, Miss., was matron of honor. Mrs. Mary Ann Pfeiffenberger and Mrs. Joanne Wood of Pottsville and Kathy Mencheyr, Saint Clair, were bridesmaids.

The bride's niece, Cheri Blasius of Gordon, was junior bridesmaid. Glenn Cole, Jr., Charlotte, N.C. was best man for his brother. Ushers were 1st Lt. Joseph McDermott, Fort Dix., N.J., 2nd Lt. Richard Pabst, Fort Polk, La., and Lt. Kenneth Bowra, Fort Bragg, N.C.

The bride's gown of polyester crepe was an A-line design with the cuffs of the short pouff sleeves and the high collar trimmed in embroidered pink daisies. The shoulder length veil was arranged on a white bow with matching trim.

She carried a single long-stemmed pink rose. The gowns worn by the attendants were of flowered pink voile with high collars, short pouffed sleeves and A-line skirts. They wore picture hats of hot pink and pale pink with streamers to match the gowns, and each carried a single pink rose. The couple left for a wedding trip to Nassau following the reception at the Independent Hose Company, Diener's Hill.

Mrs. Cole is a 1968 graduate of Saint Clair Area High School. She was employed at Henry L.. Miller and Son, Port Carbon. Her husband was graduated from Citadel Military College of Charleston, S.C. in 1969.

He is a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Polk, La.
