Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Beacher, Pottsville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on May 15. They were married May 15, 1940 in Saint Clair Bethlehem Baptist Church Parsonage by the Rev. T.D. Morris. The couple have three children: Ruthann Faust, Coal Township; Bemeda Dougherty, Pottsville; and Patricia Cole, Enterprise, Ala. They also have six grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Mr. Beacher is the son of the late Harry and Anna Martin Beacher, formerly of Saint Clair. Mrs. Beacher is the former Berneda Purcell.

Services for Harold L. Beacher. 88, of 44 Caroline Ave., Diener's Hill, Pottsville area, who died Wednesday evening at home, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday from James H. Evans Funeral Home Inc., Saint Clair.
The Rev. Gregory Reser will officiate. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Saint Clair. Born in Saint Clair, he was a son of the late Harry and Annie Martin Beacher. He worked as a salesman at the former Boussum's clothing store, the former Doutrich's clothing store and Bohorad's clothing store, all of Pottsville.
He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church; one of the founders of Saint Clair OldTimers Baseball Association, where he was financial secretary for 23 years; a life member of the Saint Clair Fish and Game; a member of Independent Hose Company, Diener's Hill; and was inducted into the Allen-Rogowicz chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Berneda E. Purcell; three daughters, Ruthann Faust, Coal Township, Northumberland County, Berneda Dougherty, Mill Creek, and Patricia Cole, Enterprise, Ala.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions be made to Pinnacle Hospice, Pottsville. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Saint Clair.
