Mr. and Mrs. Jean Conan will reside at 25 Rue Du Doceur Henlia, Paris, France, after September 15. Their marriage was solemnized Sunday, August 22, in the chape of the First Congregational Church with Dr. Howard R. Towne officiating.
The bride is the former Toni B. Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Ellis of Indianapolis. Mrs. Ellis is a former resident of Traverse City. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Andre' Conan of Paris.
Given in marriage by her grandfather, T. H. Beecher of Torch Lake, the bride wore a ballerina-length gown fashioned with a taffeta skirt, empire waist, and lace bodice with long sleeves. She carried white gardenia.
Miss Jill Smith was maid of honor for her sister. Her ballerina-length gown was designed of champaigne-colored lace. Frank Lennox of Highland Park, Ill., was best man.
Immediately after the ceremony a receiption was held at Shield's.
The bride is a gradue of DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, where she was affiliated with alpha Chi Omega sorority and Theta Sigma Phi (journalism honorary.) The bridegroom was graduated from L'Institut Polytechnique De Grenoble, Grenoble, France, receiving his degree in electronics engineering.
