She had no occupation and had real estate valued at $800. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. Her immediate neighbors are Benjamin Stover, cooper, 57, and his wife Anna, 29; and Samuel Laush, farmer, 52, and his wife Nancy, 42.

2. Census in 1870 in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster, PA. 8 Jeremiah Bicher appears in the 1870 Census in Brecknock Township as a 22-year old farm laborer living on the farm owned by Samuel Keiffer, age 59 and his wife Susan, 58, and their daughter, Elizabeth, 17. Samuel's real estate was valued at $3500 and his personal estate $1486. The post office was Bowmansville.
Next door is the widow Elizabeth Keifer, 60, with her daughter Eliza, 25. Also in the home is Isaac Keifer, shoemaker, 66. Elizabeth's real estate was valued at $750 and personal estate $577.
[note: Jeremiah Bicher married Elizabeth Keiffer and her PA death certificiate states her father was Moses Kieffer and mother Elizabeth Lesher. Moses was the brother of Isaac Samuel and died in 1847. His wife is the widow Elizabeth and her daughter Eliza married Jeremiah soon after the 1870 census was recorded. ].

4. Census in 1900 in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster, PA. 9 Jeremiah Bicher is listed in the 1900 Census for Brecknock Township as age 56, born in Feb 1844. This is a different date than reported on his tombstone record. The record states he was married for 29 years to his wife, Elizabeth, born Oct 1841. She had a total of two children and both were alive in 1900. Both are reported being in the household: James, born Jan 1871; and Mary born Jan 1871. Jeremiah is employed as a farmer.

5. Census in 1910 in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster, PA. 1 Jermiah Bicher, age 6?, farmer, married 41 years to wife Elizabeth, 66, is living with his son James, 40; and daughter Mary, 40. Both children are single. Elizabeth had given birth to two children, both still living, and she only spoke German, while the others spoke English. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Obituary: Ephrata Review: obituary of Elizabeth Bicher on 9 Aug 1918 in Ephrata, Lancaster, PA. 11 Mrs. Elizabeth Bicher (nee Kieffer), widow of the late Jere Bicher, died last Friday morning, aged seventy-four years, nine months and twenty-three days, death being due to complication of diseases, after a long illness. Her husband died seven years ago. A daughter, Mary, and son James, both at home, in Adamstown, survive. The funeral was held from her late home on Monday morning, followed by services in the Muddy Creek church, conducted by Rev. Dr. M. W. Schweitzer. Interment took place in Muddy Creek church cemetery. Funeral director H. M. Mellinger had charge.
