Joseph was born in Darms (perhaps Darmstadt? above it is wrriten Her perhaps Hessen? ) and his parents in Luxembourg ( see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Luxembourg ). Betsey and her parents were born in Maine. The children were born in Wisconsin and their father in Luxembourg and mother in Maine. 2. Newspaper: Mineral Point Tribune: Beecher-Harris Marriage, 14 Jan 1897, Mineral Point, Iowa, WI. 2 Mr. Otto B. Beecher and Miss Nellie Harris were united in marriage on the 6th inst, at the home of the groom's father, Mr. Joseph Beecher, in the town of Mineral Point, by Rev. W. Croft. the young couple will reside on the Beecher farm in the town of Waldwick. 3. Census in 1900 in Mineral Point, Iowa, WI. 1 The 1900 census recorded Joseph Beecher, farmer, 74, born sep 1826, living with wife Betsy, 67, Jun 1833; son Otto, farmer, 25, Dec 1875; daughter-in-law Nellie, 32, Jan 1868; Homer Beecher, 2, Feb 1898; and Doris Beecher, 8 months, Sep 1899. Joseph and Betsy were married for 35 years and she had birthed 12 children, 11 alive in 1900. Otto and Nellie were married 4 years and she had birthed 2 children by 1900, both alive. Joseph immigrated in 1850 and was naturalized. Joseph and his parents were born in Germany. Betsy and her parents were born in Maine. Otto was born in Wisconsin, his father in Germany and mother in Maine. Nellie and her parents were born in English Canada, and her children in Wisconsin.
