CIVIL WAR VETERAN IS CALLED TO REST TUESDAY

William, Jefferson Snook, 81, civil war veteran, died at the home of his brother, Edward Snook, residing nine miles northeast of Elwood at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, of paralysis. He was the son of Peter and Catherine Snook and was born near Knightstown. December 23, 1846. When six years of age his parents removed to the community northeast ol Elwood. Mr. Snook was united in marriage in March. 1878, to Miss Lucinda Osborne. During the civil war he served with Company H 153d Indiana Infantry and participated in several important battles. He was a highly respected farmer, one who enjoyed an unusually huge circle of friends. Surviving are the widow. Mrs. Lucinda Snook; three daughters, Mrs. Cliffie Mull, of Homer, Ind.; Mrs. Wreatha Young, of Chicago, and Mrs. Alta Grimm, of near Elwood; one son, Lee Snook, of Chicago, and one brother, Edward Snook, at whose home he died. Funeral services will be conducted at the East Main Street Christian church Thursday morning at 10:30 by Rev. J. W. Wittkamper.
