FRANKFORT -- Suit to set aside the will of May B. Black, filed for probate in Circuit court, was instituted Friday by eight persons -- Opal Aper, Hazel Chenoweth, Manford Beeker, Bernice Beeker, Clifford Beeker, Leonard Beeker, John Beeker and Stephen Beeker against Magdeline Hornbeck as executrix of the estate and Magdoline Hornback, Thornton Beeker and Katheryn Shigley as heirs named in the will. The estate includes real estate in Clinton and Tippecanoe counties estimated to be worth $30,000. The will was drawn April 11, 1950. The complaint alleges undue influence in the writing of the will.

Clifford Beeker Dies; Former Police Chief

Funeral services for Clifford F. Beeker, 66 years old, 6473 North Park Avenue, former Indianapolis police chief and city purchasing director, tentatively have been set for Tuesday in Jordan Funeral Home. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Mr. Beeker died Wednesday in his winter home at Lake Worth, Fla.
He served as chief under then-mayor Robert H. Tyndall from Jan. 1, 1943, to Jan. 31, 1945.
He stepped down to chief of detectives because of differences with William H. Remy, who was president of the Board of Public Safety.
HE RETIRED from the force a few months later to accept the newly created post of safety director for Red Cab Inc.
He later served as city purchasing director in the administration of former Mayor Alex M. Clark. In 1967 he retired as a claims supervisor for the Indiana Insurance Company's home office after eight years with the firm.
HE WAS A MEMBER of Prospect Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Shrine Police Club, Retired Police Officers Association and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Charlene Beeker; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Jackson of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Jacqueline Swails of Indianapolis; a brother, Leonard Beeker of Bridgeman, Mich., and five grandchildren.

Clifford married Evelyn Virgnia Campbell, daughter of George Wallace Campbell and Edna Lee Reinknoble, on 25 Jul 1924 in , Fulton, IN.1 The marriage ended in divorce on 5 Aug 1948. Clifford next married Charlene Jane Hodges, daughter of Charles L. Hodges and Eva Leona Totten.
