Beaufred D. and Anita F. Marcy (formerly Anita Fern Lyons) of Sun City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 29 with a trip to Colorado and a family dinner. The Marcys were married Sept. 29. 1951, in Indianapolis. They moved to Arizona in 1989. They have one child, Sandra A. Johnson of Glendale. Beaufred Marcy was a police officer with the Indianapolis Police Department. He retired in 1977. Anita Marcy was a buyer for John Sexton Food Co. She also retired in 1977. The couple met at a social club in Indianapolis in 1947.

He was a retired police officer with 30 years of service with the city of Indianapolis Police Department. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Prospect Masonic Lodge 714 in Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Murat Shrine Temple. He is survived by his wife, Anita; daughter, Sandra Marcy-Johnson of Sun City, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara McGinley, and brother, Jack Marcy. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 1 p.m. at the Lakeview United Methodist Church, 103rd Ave. & Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital or the Diabetes Assoc. Arrangements by Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel.
