Obituary: Columbus Telegram on 10 Feb 1943 in Columbus, Platte, NE. 4 Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Pruitt Palmateer were held Saturday at the Presbyterian church. Rev. W. A. Stockwell. pastor, officiating. Mrs. Palmateer died at her home Wednesday afternoon after an illness of two years. Surviving are her husband, Arthur; three sons. Harry of Creston, Dr. Homer Palmateer of Madison, Russell of Emporium, Pa.; one daughter, Mrs. Dessie Pollard, of Blair; two brothers, Logan of Vienna, O., and Wade of Humphrey; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Palmateer of Mesa. Ariz., Mrs. Florence Sharrar of Los Angeles and Miss Effie Pruiitt of Omaha; and eight grandchildren. A quartet, Mrs. Cam Moran, Mrs. W. J. Ritter, Art Anson and Bill Anson, sang, and Nadine Summers accompanied. Pallbearers were C. A. Hines, John Barrett. Julius Engel, Ed Luedtke, L. D. Phillips and Ernest Gigax. Burial was in Creston cemetery. Ora married Hubert Arthur Palmateer on 16 Jan 1894.1 2 (Hubert Arthur Palmateer was born on 9 Sep 1871 in Galway, Saratoga, NY,1 2 5 died on 14 Aug 1952 in Omaha, Douglas, NE 2 5 and was buried in Creston, Platte, NE 2 5.) |
