She was the daughter of the late John S. & Mary Bicher Zimmerman. She was pre deceased by her husband Walter S. Stauffer and grandchildren Randall Lehman and Rodney Lehman, sister Helen Zimmerman and brothers Richard, Ernest & Pheryl Zimmerman.
Evelyn moved from Lancaster, Pennsylvania to St. Mary's County, Maryland in 1947, where she was a homemaker and spent many hours in her greenhouse. She was employed at Zimmerman's Greenhouse. In 2016 she moved to Vineland, New Jersey to be near family, where she enjoyed outdoor upkeep and especially in later years, books and recorded music. She was a member of the Vineland Mennonite Church.
Evelyn is survived by her children; Tammy L. Lehman (Clair) of Vineland, NJ, George N. Stauffer, Newburg, MD, Christopher A. Stauffer, Alexandria, VA, Grandchildren; Courtney Lehman, Felisha (Matthew) Lauver, Rhonda Lehman, Daryl Lehman, and Gabrielle Scarantino, Great Grandchild; Ellie Lauver. Siblings; Louella Zimmerman of Mechanicsville, MD, Bernice Schroll of Hershey, PA, Harold Zimmerman (Patricia) of Hillsdale, WI, Stanley Zimmerman (Beatrice) of Leonardtown, MD and Nathan Zimmerman (Linda) of Amherst, VA.
Relatives & friends will be received on Wednesday October 13th from 2:00-4:00 PM and again from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Mechanicsville Mennonite Church, 41235 Bishop Rd., Mechanicsville, MD.
