Obituary: Morning News: obituary of Mrs. Marshall Rambo on 4 Sep 1969 in Wilmington, New Castle, DE. ² Mrs. Margaret Ann Rambo, 87, formerly of Elsmere, died yesterday at the State Home at Smyrna after an illness of about four years. Mrs. Rambo, widow of Marshall Rambo and mother of the late Paul Rambo, former Elsmere fire chief, was one of the founders of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elsmere Fire Company. Born in Shrewsbury, England, she had been an Elsmere resident from girlhood. In addition to her activity in the fire company auxiliary, she was a member of Sepana Council 16, Order of Red Men. Mrs. Rambo had been ailing since a fall in 1965. She had been a widow since 1940 and lived in Elsmere with her son until his death in 1964. A daughter, Mrs. Lillian Scarborough, died in 1947. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Ethel Firth of Wilmington; three grandchildren, Mrs. Edward W. Mason, David and Richard Rambo, all of Elsmere, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 Saturday morning at the Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, where friends may call tomorrow night. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
