Horn, mechanical engineer drafting, 35, living with wife Katharine E., 34; daughter Frances, 10; son Burton, 2; and son Alden, 6 months. Robert and Katharine were married for 12 years and she had birthed 3 children by1900, all alive that year. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. 2. Census in 1920 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 12 The 1920 census recorded at 134 St. Cloud Street: Robert W. P. Horn, draftsman in engineering company, 45, living with wife Kathryn E., 44; daughter Frances E., bookkeeper in department store, 19; son Burton D., 12; son Alden K., 10; father-in-law William H. Neff, 79; and mother-in-law Priscilla Neff, 73. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. 3. Newspaper: Allentown Morning Call: Ruth Beacher and Alden K. Horn Wed, 24 May 1931, Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 13 The wedding of Miss E. Ruth Beacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Beacher, of 224 South Sixteenth street, and organist of Grace E. C. church, and Alden K. Horn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Horn, was solemnized Saturday afternoon at 5.30 o'clock in Grace church. Friends and relatives of the young couple as well as many members of the congregation attended the wedding at which Rev. H. E. Snyder, pastor of the church, officiated with Rev. C. P. Kichline, pastor of Trinity E. C. church, assisting. At 5 o'clock, a half-hour recital was given by Mrs. Pierson, of Bethlehem, organist, and Miss Laura Jones, of this city, vocalist, friends of the bride. Miss Beacher was attired in an Empress Josephine gown of pink baptiste, cut ankle-length with a ruffled skirt. Her picture hat was of a similar shade and she carried an old-fashioned bouquet. The bride was attended by Miss Katherine Hardenstine as maid of honor. Miss Hardenstine's costume was of the same style as Miss Beacher's, but baby blue in color. Her bouquet was sweet peas. Burton Horn, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man, and Donald Beacher, a brother of the bride, and Robert Keck, were ushers. Following the wedding, a dinner was served to sixteen guests at the home of the bride. Afterward the couple left for a week's honeymoon trip, the destination of which they have not revealed. On their return they will receive their many friends at 224 South West street. Miss Beacher is a graduate of Shenandoah High school, class of 1924, and of the New England Conservatory of Music, Boston, Mass., in 1927. She has been teaching piano and serving as organist of Grace church. Mr. Horn graduated from Allentown High school in 1925 and after completing an engineering course in Philadelphia became identified with the Pennsylvania Power and Light company as draftsman. 4. Horn, 65, living with wife Kathryn E., 64; son Burt O., surverying for architect, 32; son Alden K., draftsman for power-light company, 30; daughter-in-law Ruth Horn, 30; graddaughter Anne Horn, 6; and grandson John Horn, 1. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania and lived in the same house in 1935. 5. Census in 1950 in Allentown, Lehigh, PA. 15 The 1950 census recorded at 1024 Chew Street: Alden K. Horn, mechanical engineer for electric utilities company, 40, living with wife Ruth, 43; daughter Anne L., 16; and son John A., 11. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. 6. Residence: 134 S. Horn, 69, of 134 S. St. Cloud St., Allentown, was dead on arrival Monday at Allentown Hospital after being stricken while driving his car on Union Street in Allentown. Lehigh County Coroner Robert C. Weir attributed the death to an apparent heart attack. He was the husband of the late E. Ruth (Beacher) Horn. Horn was a design draftsman for the Pennsylvania Power & Light Co. for 36 years before retiring in 1974. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert W.P. and Kathryn (Neff) Horn. He was a council committeeman for the Minsi Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America, as well as a neighborhood commissioner of the Trexler District of the council and a committee chairman of Troop 37, affiliated with Trinity United Church of Christ, Allentown. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Allentown. Horn was secretary-treasurer of the Mono Investment Corp., Allentown, Surviving are a daughter, Anne H., wife of Paul F. Ettinger of Allentown; a son. John A. of East Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Frances Kline of Hazelton, and four grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30a.m. Friday in the Stephens Funeral Home, 1335-37 Linden St., Allentown. Calling hours will be 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.
