Census in 1900 in Flat Rock Township, Bartholomew, IN, USA. 1 The 1900 census recorded Frederick Beeker, farmer, 55, born Aug 1844, living with wife Margaret J., 44, Nov 1855; daughter Mary, 17, Feb 1883, single; and daughter Annie, 14, Aug 1885, single. The couple was married for 15 years and Margaret had birthed only 1 child [note: other records identify Annie as her daughter.] Frederick, his parents, and Margaret's parents were born in Germany. Margaret and the children were born in Indiana. Mary's mother was born in Germany and Annie's mother in Indiana. Their father was born in Germany. Frederick had immigrated in 1865 and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen.

Life-Long Resident of St. Louis Crossing Passes Away At County Hospital

Mrs. Mary Zurbrugg, 43, wife of Edward Zurbrugg, of St. Louis Crossing, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning at the Bartholomew county hospital. Mrs. Zurbrugg had been in failing health for some time, but her death came after an operation performed about a week ago.

Mrs. Zurbrugg was born and reared at St. Louis Crossing, of which community she had been a resident all her life. She was a devout member of the Methodist Episcopal church at St. Louis Crossing and had many sincere friends in all parts of the county, who mourn her death as the passing away of a lovable and kind woman.

Surviving are the husband, four brothers, Frederick, Louis, and John Beeker, of St. Louis Crossing; and Louda Beeker, of Davies county; and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Klipsch, of Daviess county, and Mrs. George Dinkins, of south of the city.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon. Short services will be held at the residence at 2:30 o'clock, followed by services at the Methodist church at St. Louis Crossing at 3 o'clock. The Rev. R. E. McWilliams, pastor of the church will have charge of the services and burial will be in the Clffty cemetery.
