J. Clevenger, of near Ash Grove, was nearing a close in the superior court Friday afternoon. Witnesses who testified during the morning were little Martha Beeker, 12, who was riding a bicycle with Kern's daughter, Margaret, 12, when the latter was injured fatally by an auto driven by Clevenger; Leslie Hinea, Lafayette photographer; Coroner M. G. Frasch; Joe Childress, mechanic at Koon's garage, who was still on the stand when court recessed at noon. Witnesses Thursday afternoon were Ed Dreblow, town marshal of Brookston; little Maxine Beeker, a playmate of the dead girl, and Maxine's father, Manford Beeker, and Omer Cottrell, Brookston funeral director. Dreblow and Beeker testified to taking measurements at the scene of the accident, showing that Clevenger drove his car 424 feet after hitting the girl. The little Beeker girl identified the shoes worn by the Kern girl.

A wedding of beautiful simplicity was solemnized at St. Boniface church Saturday morning at 8 o'clock, when Miss Martha Beeker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Manford Beeker, of Brookston, became the bride of John K. Mugg of Lafayette. Rev. Fridlon Schuster, O. F. M., read the ceremony before an altar adorned with ferns, white lilacs and lighted tapers. The children's choir sang. The bride was attractive in ivory slipper satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and a full skirt tapering to a slight train. Her fingertip veil of tulle and lace fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and lilies of the valley. She carried a single cala lily in a pearl prayer book, from which fell a shower of white rose buds on white satin ribbon. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Miss Maxine Beeker, who served her sister as maid of honor, wore blue net and lace over taffeta, and Mrs. Ernest Wisley, bridesmaid, wore pink net and lace over taffeta. Both attendants wore matching shoulder length veils which fell from tiaras of rose buds. They carried roses and wore strands of pearls, a gift of the bride. Joe Mugg served his brother as best man. Ushers were Clyde Fiscus of Mitchill, and Arthur Hege. Breakfast was served at The Embassy. Roses and lighted tapers adorned the table. Immediately after the breakfast, Mr. and Mrs. Mugg departed on a wedding trip through the south. The bride is a graduate of Brookston high school and attended Lafayette Business college. She is employed by the J. C, Penney company and is a member of Psi Iota XI sorority, at Brookston. The groom is a graduate of Battle Ground high school and Purdue university. He is vocational agriculture teacher at Lancaster Central high school, Bluffton.

FRANKFORT -- Suit to set aside the will of May B. Black, filed for probate in Circuit court, was instituted Friday by eight persons -- Opal Aper, Hazel Chenoweth, Manford Beeker, Bernice Beeker, Clifford Beeker, Leonard Beeker, John Beeker and Stephen Beeker against Magdeline Hornbeck as executrix of the estate and Magdoline Hornback, Thornton Beeker and Katheryn Shigley as heirs named in the will. The estate includes real estate in Clinton and Tippecanoe counties estimated to be worth $30,000. The will was drawn April 11, 1950. The complaint alleges undue influence in the writing of the will.
