Everyone was born in Indiana except Daniel and Lona in Kansas. Thomas' parents were born in Ohio. Mary E.'s father was born in North Carolina and mother unknown.

Lida F. Haynes, 69-year-old widow of the late Walter J. Haynes, died Monday afternoon in Salem, Ore., where she had been visiting her son, Dr. C.F. Haynes and Mrs. Haynes.

A native of Otterbein, Ind., Mrs. Haynes was born Dec. 4, 1869, and was married to Mr. Haynes in Grand View, S.D., May 3, 1890. He preceded her in death in 1921.

Mr. and Mrs. Haynes first came to Montana in 1892 and made their home in Laurel prior to coming to Helena in 1904. Mr. Haynes was employed in the Northern Pacific freight and passenger department from then until his death in 1921. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Haynes resided with a daughter, Mrs. Oscar Hovde of this city.

In addition to her son in Salem and her daughter here, she is survived by another daughter, Thelma Mack of Pasco, Wash.; a son, M.K. Haynes of Helena, four grandchildren, including Mrs. P. A. Milhelish and Marilyn Hovde of this city, and four great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Mrs. Hovde and Mrs. Mihelish left early today for Salem.


Lida married Walter Judson Haynes, son of James M. Haynes and Ailsa Josephine McGhee, on 3 May 1890 in Grandview, Douglas, SD, USA.1 (Walter Judson Haynes was born on 20 May 1869 in Pleasantville, Marion, IA, USA,4 10 died on 13 Jan 1921 in Helena, Lewis and Clark, MT 1 4 10 11 and was buried in Helena, Lewis and Clark, MT 4 10.)
