Cyrus was born in Pennsylvania, Catherine in Maryland, Lorrear and Cora in Virginia, and Ida and Cyrus in Kentucky. Cyrus' personal estate was valued at $2500. The post office was Kingston.

2. Census in 1870 in Cynthiana, Harrison, KY. 4 The 1870 census recorded Cyrus B. Cook, distiller, 47, living with wife Permelia C., 40; daughter Cora V., 15; son Cyrus K. 10; daughter Lilley L., 7; and daughter Hattie M., 2. Cyrus was born in Pennsylvania, Permelia in Maryland, Cora in Virginia, and the children in Kentucky.

5. Obituary: The Log Cabin on 5 Jul 1935 in Cynthiana, Harrison, KY. Mrs. Cora V. Addams, age 80 years, widow of the late William Addams, died at her home on North Walnut Street in Cynthiana Monday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock after one week's illness. Mrs. Addams was formerly Miss Cora V. Cook and was a daughter of the late Cyrus and Permelia Catherine Knight Cook. She was born at Point of Rocks, Virginia on April 17, 1855. Her father, Cyrus B. Cook, was born in York County, Pa., in 1823 and was a miller and distiller, who came to Kentucky in 1858. He served as Magistrate at Richmond and later served as Councilman and Mayor of Cynthiana, dying here November 16, 1880. Mrs. Addams' mother, formerly Permelia Catherine Knight, was born in 1828 at Hagerstown, DId., where she married Mr. Cook in 1844.
The couple came to Richmond, Ky., in 1858, when their daughter, who later became Mrs. Addams, was only three years of age. In 1860 the family moved to Cynthiana where Mr. Cook became a prominent business man, operating woolen and flour mills and a distillery.
On October 8, 1872 Cora V. Cook was married to William Addams who later became a partner of C. B. Cook in the milling business, operating the mill that later became the property of the Crescent Milling Company. For many years years Mr. Addams engaged extensively in the grain, feed and seed business at 109 and 111 South Main Street, Cynthiana, and also had farming interests.
He was prominent in and business circles, was president of the Cynthiana Electric Light Company, was city councilman, Mayor, and a prominent candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor in 1911, heing defeated by former Senator McCreary. Mr. Addams died Nov. 16, 1922.
Mrs. Addams is survived by eight children, all of whom were here this week, they being Mrs. Rilla A. Megibben, Mrs. H. D.
Frisbie, Jr., Misses Cora and Lucy L. Addams, Mr. William Addams and Mrs. Ruth King, all of Cynthiana; Mr. Cyrus C. Addams, Ft. Thomas, Ky., and Mrs. Thomas E. Moore, Jr., Hazard, Ky.
Mrs. Addams was member of the Church of the Advent, Episcopal, of Cynthiana.
The funeral services, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. George Ralph Madson, were held at the residence Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock, and burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery. The pallbearers were her two sons, William and Cyrus Addams, her cousin, Carl Musser, and three grandsons, William M., Eugene and Cyrus C., Addams Jr.
Among those here for the funeral were: Mr. and Albert Griffee, Mrs. H. K. McAdams, Miss Gladys McAdams, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Shipp, Mr. and Mrs. Cassady and Mrs. Helen Lafferty Nisbet, all of Lexington; Mrs. Mary Bain. Shelbyville; Mr. and Mrs. Tom E. Moore and daughter, Ann of Hazard, Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Addams, four sons and daughter of Ft. Thomas; Mr. A. F. Milner of Scott County.


Cora married William Henry Addams, son of John Addams and Lucy Pepper Logan, on 8 Oct 1872 in Cynthiana, Harrison, KY.1 (William Henry Addams was born on 16 Sep 1850 in Mays Lick, Mason, KY, United States,5 died on 16 Nov 1922 in Cynthiana, Harrison, KY 1 5 and was buried on 20 Nov 1922 in Cynthiana: Battle Grove Cemetery, Harrison, KY 5.)
