Noted events in her life were:

1. Fact: 1 4 On son Jacob F. Jr's. PA death certificate, the informant Jr.s' wife stated Jacob's mother was Catherine Epler. Jacob's father, John Beecher, was buried at Epler's Church.
Unfortunately, most of the original records for Epler's Church (specifically Epler's United Church of Christ in Bern Township, Pennsylvania) are gone. They were in an old safe that was stolen in the 1960s.
The thieves, who were looking for money, expected to find valuables but instead found only the church records. They broke the safe open and abandoned it next to a river; it is assumed the records were dumped into the Atlantic Ocean or otherwise destroyed by the elements.
Consequently, the church today has none of the original records for the graveyard or the church itself.
Jacob's first wife is mentioned as Catharine Braun in the 1929 book "Kentucky Pioneers and Court Records" but no proof is presented. It seems Epler is the correct surname since they have a son son Paris Epler Beecher!.
