Also in the home: Elizabeth's brother, Esias Bucher, 22 [should be Esek]; Henry Brown, 22; Elizabeth's brother James Bucher, 35. William was born in Pennsylvania, James in Michigan, and the others in New York. William had no real estate of value; his personal estate was worth $500. 4. Census in 1870 in Emporium, Cameron, PA. 6 James Bucher, laborer, 46, was living with wife Lydia A., 37; Charles H., 8; James W., 5; Alice S., 3; and Ella, 10 months. James and Charles were born in New York, Lydia in Massachusetts, and the children in Pennsylvania. The post office was Emporium. 5. Census in 1880 in Emporium, Cameron, PA. 7 James Bucher, laborer, 54, was living with wife Lydia A., 47; Alice S., 12; Ella U., 10; and Emma C., 9. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except Lydia and her parents in Massachusetts. James' parents were from Saxony. 6. Census in 1900 in Emporium, Cameron, PA. 2 Living at 1707 Walnut Street was James Bucher, farmer, 76, born Nov 1823, widowed, with his daughter Emma, 29, Apr 1871, single. He was born in New York, his father in Germany, and his mother in New York. Emma and her mother were born in Pennsylvania, her father in New York. James owned his home. James married Lydia Ann Keeney, daughter of Esek Keeney and Rebecca Shaw Norton, on 10 Oct 1861.1 (Lydia Ann Keeney was born on 31 Jan 1833 in New Bedford, Bristol, MA 6 and died on 28 Apr 1900 in Emporium, Cameron, PA.) |
