John C. Bucher, 89, 810 Old Route 30, died Sunday morning, May 24, 1998, at Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Boyer) Bucher, who died in 1993. Born Sept.
29, 1908, in Cashtown, he was the son of the late George and Sara (Deardorff) Bucher. He was a member of Flor's Lutheran Church, McKnightstown, Good Samaritan Lodge 336 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Temple. He was a lifelong farmer in Cashtown and operated Bucher Brothers Farms. He was a life member of Cashtown Fire Co., Adams County Firemen's Association, Adams County Fish & Game Association, Adams County Fruitgrowers Association and McKnighstown AARP. Surviving are two grandchildren, Sue Ann Wentz of Cashtown and J. Gregg Bucher of Littlestown; and six greatgrandchildren. He was predeceased by one, son John G. Bucher. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, with the Rev. Douglas Y. Boden officiating. Burial will be in Flohr's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Memial contributions may be made to the Cashtown Fire Co.
