1. Census in 1870 in Franklin Twp., Adams, PA. ⁶ Samuel Beecher, 50, works in paper mill, was living with wife Matilda, 45; David, 21, works in paper mill; Clara, 18; Sarah, 11; and Anna, 6. Samuel had no real estate and his personal estate was worth $240. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. The post office was Arendtsville.

2. Census in 1880 in Altoona, Blair, PA. ⁷ Samuel Bucher, age 60, laborer, is living with wife Sarah A. M., age 55, and daughter Annie, 16, employed as a dress maker. Living with them is Henry Shank, a nephew, age 24, cigar maker. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Obituary: Altoona Tribune: obituary of Annie Irene Beecher on 28 May 1891 in Altoona, Blair, PA. ³ At twenty-five minutes past 8 o'clock last evening Miss Annie Irene Beecher died at the residence of her parents, No. 419 Seventh avenue, of consumption, aged 27 years, 5 months and 11 days. She was a consistent member of the Second United Brethren church, a true Christian lady, and as such her death is mourned by a large host of friends. Her aged parents, Samuel and Matilda Beecher, of this city; two brothers, George C. and David H. G., of York, Pa., and two sisters, Mrs. Clara J. Gobrecht and Mrs. Sallie A. Cavender, of this city, survive her and mourn her early demise. Funeral on Saturday at 2 o'clock p. m. at the house, to proceed to the Second United Brethren church, and from there to Fairview cemetery, the place of interment.
