He was born in Oakville to the late Daniel Webster and Adessa Jane Hummel Kough. He was a veteran of World War I and a retired employee of C. H. Masland and Sons.
Mr. Kough was a member of West Hill Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Bible Class of the Sunday School; Post No. 477, Veterans of Foreigh Wars and Post No. 101, American Legion, Carlisle; Barracks No. 2274, Veterans of World War I, Shippensburg; and St. John's Lodge No. 260, F and AM, Carlisle.
He is suvived by his wife Mrs. Ruth Beecher Kough; four daughters, Mrs. Lester Lay, RD3, Newville; Mrs. Lyrian Kough, Plainfield; Mrs. John Snyder, Jr., Carlisle, and Mrs. Irvin R. Anderson, Plainfield; a son, Karl Kough, RD2, Newville; three sisters, Mrs. William Raudabaugh, Mechanicsburg; Mrs. Elmer Bixler, RD6, Carlisle, and Mrs. Frank Kessler, RD3, Newville; two brothers, E. E. Kough, RD2, Newville, and Earl Kough, Carlisle; five granddaughters, and six grandsons.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Roth Funeral Home, 169 West High Street, with Rev. Leon McClearly officiating. Burial will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Friday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
