Born in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Jacob M. and Ruth Beecher Kough. Pearl was employed by the Carlisle Area School District on the cafeteria staff and also was manager of the former ARCO Gas Station of Carlisle. She was a member of the Empire Friendship Fire Company; was active with Canteen 42 for many years, and was an avid supporter of Carlisle sports as a ticket seller. She was a life member of the West Hill United Methodist Church, Carlisle, and a member of the Purple Heart. She was den mother of Cub Scout Pack No. 160, a supporter of the Carlisle Special Fire Police, and member of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Aerie No. 1299. Surviving are her husband, Jack R. Snyder Jr. of Carlisle; a son, Robert M. Snyder and wife, Pearl Kough Snyder Sue, of Carlisle; a daughter, Pamela J. McKay and husband David of Carlisle; two sisters, Lyrian Kough of Carlisle and Shirley Anderson of Newburg; nine grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy S. Aungst, a brother, Carl Kough, and a sister, Addessa Lay. Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Iva L. O'Brien officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Empire Friendship Fire Company, 177 Spring Road, Carlisle, PA 17013 or to the West Hill United Methodist Church, 2164 Newville Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.
