TO LIVE IN NORTHWEST
A pretty church wedding occurred in Christ Lutheran Church, South George Street, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, when Miss Mabel Beecher Mitzel, daughter of John W. Mitzel, 506 Prospect Street became the bride of Walter H. Seiden, of Waseca, Minnesota, son of William Seiden, of Brooklyn NY. The ceremony was performed by Rev. George W. Enders in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives. Mrs. Edith Grace Beecher, the bride's aunt, was maid of honor while Irving Seiden of Waseca, the groom's brother served as best man. The bride was attired in the coat suit of Oxford gray and wore a corsage bouquet of violets. The bridesmaid was dressed in a blue jersey suit and wore a corsage bouquet of sweet peas. Miss Stallman Miller, the church organist, played a short organ recital before the ceremony. For the processional she played the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin, and as a processional, Mendelssohn's Wedding March. Preceding the ceremony Miss Kathryn Pffleger sang "At Dawning." The church was attractively decorated with palms and white roses. The bride had been a member of the choir of Christ's Lutheran Church, the Young Women's Christian association chorus and of York concert choir. She's quite popular among the younger set of York society. The groom served in United States army during the world war. He was a member of companies C, 329th battalion, tank corps. After the ceremony a wedding supper was served at the bride's home. Mr. and Mrs. Seiden left last evening for Chicago, but they will spend a short time with the bride's uncles, Dr. G. N. Beecher and Dr. F. E. Beecher, former Yorkers. They will make their home in Waseca, Minnesota.

She was born in York, a daughter of the late George Calvin and Martha R. Eicholtz Beecher.

Miss Beecher retired in 1960 from Baird & Warner, Chicago, Ill, where she was president and manager of the insurance department. She returned to York in 1973.

Miss Beecher was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include nieces and a nephew.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. March 11 in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Miss Beecher's pastor, the Rev. Raymond K. Rossnagel, will officiate.

John D. Jackson Funeral Home Inc., 1205 E. Market St., is in charge of arrangements.
