York, Pa., July 17. -- Elva Thomas, the 16-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Thomas, and Frank Beecher, aged 19 years, eloped and were married in Baltimore. The first intimation the parents had was an announcement in a Baltimore newspaper.
The boy and girl both work in factories and they left for work the other day as usual. They hurried to Baltimore. There the girl changed her everday dress for a white one, which she had surreptitiously made and emerged from the depot waiting room in resplendent bride's attire.
They were married and came back to York. When Mr. Thomas noticed the announcement in the paper he said to his daughter: "Elva, was that you?" "Uh-huh," said the girl demurely, and the parental blessings were given.

At 875 Prospect street was Calvin M. Beacher, bookkeeper at automobile works, 22, living with wife Jennie H., 21; and son David R., 11 months. They were married for 1 year and had birthed 1 child by 1910.

Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Beecher, cigar maker in cigar factory, 30, living with wife Elva M., working in chain works, 27, in the home of her father, Forrest E. Mrs. Elva M. Beecher, wife of the late Franklin Beecher, died Sunday at 6:45 a.m. at her home in Franklinville, N.J. She was 64.
She is survived by a son, Richard Beecher, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jefferson, Gibbstown, N.J., Mrs. Clarence Bair, Stoverstown, and Mrs. Romaine Brenneman, 276 West Maple street. Interment will be in Mt. Rose cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elva M. Beecher, widow of Franklin Beecher, who died Sunday at her Franklin, N.J., home, were held yesterday at Koller Funeral home. Rev. Dr. J. H. Flockenstine, pastor of Trinity EUB church, officiated. Friends served as pallbearers. Interment was in Mt. Rose cemetery.

Elva married Franklin Moses Beecher, son of David Henry Gilbert Beecher and Catherine Druck, on 14 Jul 1908 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD.
