The census record shows they had been married 1 year and had birthed no children by 1900. They and John's parents were born in Pennsylvania. Edith's parents were born in England.

4. Census in 1910 in Newark, Essex, NJ. ¹³ The 1910 census recorded renting at 130 Elizabeth Avenue: John J. Snyder, department store salesman, 34, living with wife Edythe, 31. The census states they were married for 10 years and she had birthed 4 children, 2 still alive in 1910. Living with them: daughter Emily J., 6; and son William S., 4 ,both born in New Jersey. Their parents were born in Pennsylvania, as were John's parents. Edythe's parents were born in England. Also in their home is a boarder, Albert Stell, 35, widowed, machinist for lumber company, born in Pennsylvania of parents from England. He is Edythe's brother.
