Inquest Conducted
-----
The accident in which twelve year old Gilbert Earl Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Miller, of Baltimore, lost his life, on September 24, was due to Samuel Beecher, Jr., New Cumberland, operating a truck on the wrong side of the road in a reckless manner, according to a verdict returned at an inquest held last evening in the court house by Coroner L. U. Zech.
It was learned last night, following the inquest that charges will probably be preferred against Beecher today.
The twelve year old boy was an occupant in an automobile operated by his father, which was traveling south on the Susquehanna trail between Camp Ganoga and Strinestown, when it was sideswiped by the truck operated by Beecher. In the accident five others were hurt. One of the injured, Miss Naomi Williams, Baltimore, a passenger in the Miller car, is still confined to the York hospital.
The jury which heard the case was composed of John F. Leib, Charles Slusser, william F. G. Beckmeyer, Landon T. Reisinger, Charles W. Fitzkee and Lewis R. Lever.
