Noted events in her life were:

1. Alt. Name: on 27 Apr 1864, in , Cumberland, PA. 10 Her joint tombstone with Samuel is engraved "1864 A. L. Verene his wife 1892" leading genealogists to incorrectly believe her maiden name was Verene.
In "Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Church and Town Records, 1669-2013" on Ancestry.com is an image of an index card from the Cumberland County Historical Society: "Beecher, A. L. Verne wife of S. J. Beecher. d. Jan 28, 1892 age 27-9-1. Hays Grove Pa. Cemetery also known as Side Town."
Her son Charles Beecher's 1964 PA Death Certificate states his mother was Lillie V. Specht".
Fortuantely, her real maiden name is clarified in an newspaper article in Carlisle in The Sentinel on 4 Nov 1933 on page 6 about a family runion at the Elmer Long home. The article mentions that attending the reunion is Charles E. Beecher of Harrisburg, stating he is the grandson of Elizabeth Wolf age 88, whose daughter is the hostess, Mrs. Elmer Long (nee Ellie Leah Wolf). The 1870 and 1880 census shows Elizabeth Wolf had another daughter, born 1864, named Lillie V. Wolf. In the 1880 census, Lillie V. Wolf is living with her parents as a neighbor to Samuel Beecher's sister Rebecca Beecher, who was working at a farm next door. On the previous census page, a few homes away, is Samuel J. Beecher, who would marry her a few years later.
The obituary of her son Harry John Beecher names her as Adaliah L. Speck. The social security application of her son Samuel Meryl Beecher names her as Adaliah L. Spect.
This evidence suggests Samuel J. Beecher married Adaliah Lillie Verene Wolf, and she perhaps first married a Specht/Speck before marrying Beecher, unless her children in the 1960-70's, some 70 years following her death at age 29 when they were young children, later recalled her maiden name incorrectly. Extensive research has been unable to prove any Specht/Wolf or Specht/Beecher relationships.

Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. On the same census page is Rebecca Beecher, who would become Lillie's sister-in-law when Lillie married Samuel J. Beecher. Samuel appears on the previous census page working in the farm of James Myers, so Samuel and Lillie were close neighbors before their marriage.
