Newspaper: Evening News: Home Damaged by Quarry Explosions, Man Charges, 7 Feb 1927, Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 21 Testimony was being heard in the Dauphin County court today in the injunction suit of Charles E. Beecher, of Swatara Township, against the Bonnymead Farms stone quarry. Beecher claims his house is being damaged by the use of explosives at the quarry and asks the court to restrain the quarry company from blasting.
Elbridge W. Cowden, Harrisburg engineer, explained maps showing the locations of the quarry and the Beecher property. Beecher was on the witness stand this afternoon, telling how the dynamiting at the quarry has cracked the walls of his home.
At the conclusion of this hearing, the court will decide whether a preliminary injunction is to be granted pending the final hearing on the application for a permanent injunction.

16. Newspaper: Harrisburg Telegraph: Home Jarred By Blasts, Woman Informs Judge, 8 Feb 1927, Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 22 Heavy blasts in the Bonnymeads Farms stone quarry, December 29, last year, rocked her home like a boat, Mrs. Emma E. Beecher, 4101 Derry street, testified before Judge Wickersham in the Dauphin county court in an equity action brought by her husband, Charles E. Beecher, and herself, against Jackson Herr Boyd, James Boyd, well-known author, and Mrs. Mary Boyd McCormick, wife of Henry B. McCormick, all of this city, owners of the Farms.
The Beechers are seeking a court injunction to restrain heavy blasting in the quarries, north of the William Penn Highway and a short distance west of their home at Lawnton.
Mrs. Beecher said the heaviest blasts in the quarries occurred in August, 1925, and last December. On the latter occasion French doors in her home were forced open, doors on a bookcase were opened and books dropped to the floor, a large picture, weighing fifty pounds, was displaced and the entire dwelling quaked.
"We have had some terrible experiences since last summer," she told the court. "Sometimes I thought the walls of our house would fall in on us, and one time I stayed near the door when they warned us there would be heavy explosions."

17. Newspaper: Evening News: Appeals Restrictions on Use of Explosives, 1 Jul 1927, Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 23 The Bonnymeade Farms Stone Quarry today appealed to the State Surpreme Court from the decision of the Dauphin County court restricting the use of explosives in its quarry near Paxtang.
The decision was in the injunction proceedings brought by Charles E. Beecher, of Swatara Township, against the quarry company in which he alleged excessive charges of dynamite in the quarry were damaging his property.
Legal questions are raised in the appeal.

18. Newspaper: Harrisburg Telegraph: Dauphin Court Ruling in Quarry Case is Sustained, 30 Jun 1928, Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 24 Decision of the Dauphin county court that the Bonnymeade quarries must be operated in such a manner that blasting will not damage the property of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Beecher, 4101 Derry street, not throw stones on the premises, was sustained in a decision to-day at Philadelphia by the State Supreme Court.
The Beechers represented by Elmer E. Erb and Homer L. Kreider, brought suit more than a year ago in the Dauphin county court against James Boyd, Jackson Herr Boy and Mrs. Mary Boyd McCormick, wife of Henry B. McCormick, this city, owners of the quarries.
They alleged that blasting had damaged their residence and that stones were hurled into the air, falling on their ground. Judge Frank B. Wickersham in a decision June 27, last year, ordered operation of the quarry restrained to the extent that it would not damage the Beecher property. Owners of the quarry then appealed the ruling.
