2. Census in 1880 in Penn Twp., Cumberland, PA. 22 23 The 1880 census recorded Saml. J. Beecher, helps on farm, 17, living in the household of farmer James P. Myers, 31, and his wife Mary, 27, and daughter Nelly M., 5. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. On the following census page is Samuel's future wife, Lille V. Wolf, living with her parents as neighbors to Samuel's sister Rebecca, who was also working on a farm.

Beecher Typhoid Fever, 14 Aug 1902, Newville, Cumberland, PA. 30 Benjamin Cockley has been quite poorly with typhoid fever but at this writing is reported on a fair way to recovery. He is a brother of Mrs. Fehl who died July 7th of the same disease. S. Beecher a brother-in-law is said to be recovering from the same disease.

15. Newspaper: The Sentinel: Breaks Leg In Fall, 2 Feb 1927, Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. 35 Samuel J. Beecher fell down ice covered steps at his home in Centerville, Saturday and broke his left leg between the knee and hip. An X-ray picture was taken in Carlisle hospital Sunday. The steps are in the yard at his home. Mr. Beecher is about 60 years old and is a retired farmer.

Carlisle, May 21 -- Funeral services for Samuel Beecher, who died Thursday afternoon, will be conducted in the home in Centerville tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, Daylight time. Mr. Beecher died in the yard at his home. Survivors are his wife and three sons, John Beecher, Carlisle; Edward Beecher, Harrisburg, and Meryl Beecher, New Cumberland.

Snoke, 3 May 1940, Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 38 A bequest of $50 is made to the Hays Grove United Brethren Church by the will of David E. Snoke, Penn township. Mrs. Emily Beecher was given $1000 outright and the use of a house in Centerville for life. A bequest of $100 was left Harry J. Beecher and the balance of the estate was bequeathed in equal shares to John S. Beecher, Edward F. Beecher, Mrs. Rebecca J. Pechart and heirs of Samuel J. Beecher.
