16. Obituary: The Sentinel: obituary of Harry J. Beecher on 17 Jan 1974 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. 8 Harry J. Beecher, 87, formerly of 246 "A" St. died Wednesday at the Forest Park Nursing Home.

Mr. Beecher was born May 14, 1886, in Cumberland County and was the widower of Grace Stouffer Beecher, and the son of the late Samuel J. and Addaliah Speck Beecher.

He was employed for many years by the late Ray B. Lackey, contractor and later by the Beetem Lumber Company. He was a member of the Community Baptist Church.

Surviving are a brother, Samuel M. Beecher, New Cumberland and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Hoffman Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., with his pastor the Rev. Harry L. Lindsay, Jr., officiating.

Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 1 until tme of the service.


Harry married Grace Victoria Stouffer, daughter of Cyrus E. Stouffer and Ann Elizabeth Myers, on 2 May 1911 in Centerville, Cumberland, PA.1 (Grace Victoria Stouffer was born on 19 Dec 1888 in Upper Dickinson Twp., Cumberland, PA,1 4 25 died on 2 Aug 1959 in Carlisle, Cumberland, PA 4 9 25 26 and was buried on 5 Aug 1959 in Carlisle: Westminster Memorial Gardens, Cumberland, PA 4 9 25.)
