Sheldon E. pastor, officiated in the presence of relatives of contracting couple. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an orchid spring suit with a corsage of white carnations. The groom was attired in a light blue suit with white carnation boutonniere. He is the son of Mrs. Lena Bucher, Northumberland, R. D. 1. Only the immediate family of bride and attended the wedding, which was followed by a reception for 25 people at the Sears' residence. Miss Shirley Sears, who is at Nurses School at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, was home for the occasion. he young couple will defer their wedding trip until some time in May. Mrs. Bucher is attending Sunbury High School and is employed at Christians' Grocery store while Mr. Bucher, who was graduated from Northumberland High School in 1951, is employed at the warehouse of Rea and Derick, Inc., in Northumberland.

Obituary: The Daily Item on 13 Jan 2004 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. 2 David Bucher, 70, Northumberland NORTHUMBERLAND - David Eugene Bucher, 70, formerly of RR2 Northumberland, entered into eternal rest at 9:22 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, in Kramm Healthcare Center, Mahoning Street, Milton, where he had lived for 5 1/2 years. He was born June 4, 1933, in Northumberland, a son of the late George S. Sr. and Lena (Kistner) Bucher. Mr. Bucher graduated in 1951 from Northumberland High School. For many years, he was employed at the Rea & Derick warehouse in Northumberland. He retired on disability from Scott Knitting Mills, Sunbury. Mr. Bucher was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sixth and King streets, Northumberland. He was a charter member of the Northumberland Fire Company No. 1. Mr. Bucher was an accomplished and skilled carpenter who had built several homes for his children, relatives and friends. Also an avid bowler, Mr. Bucher had a 300 game one time. Surviving are one son, John D. Bucher and his wife Sherry of RR1 Middleburg; three daughters, Susan L. Bell and her husband Thomas B. of Montandon, Cindy K. Di'Ogo and her husband Maurice Jr. of Audubon, N.J., and Michele A. Clemens and her companion William J. Hagerman of RR1 Sunbury; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen L. Bucher of Northumberland. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Huston T., William P., John E., George S. Jr. and Harry L. Bucher; one sister, Mary K. Renninger: and one son-in-law, James I. Clemens, on June 23, 1999. Friends and family may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland, where the funeral will follow at 2 with the Rev. Mark Hagy officiating. Burial will be made in Northumberland Memorial Park, Garden of Memory. RR4 Sunbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed in loving memory of Mr. Bucher to Kramm Healthcare Center, Residents Fund, 743 Mahoning St., Milton. PA 17847.
