George S. Bucher, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Bucher of Duke street, and Miss Lena Maud Kistner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kistner of Water street, were married at the parsonage of the United Evangelical church by Rev. I. C. Shearer on Tuesday evening at 9:45 o'clock.
Mr. Bucher is a fireman on the Pennsylvania Railroad. The couple will reside for the present with Mr. Bucher's parents on Duke street.

George S. Bucher, Milton Road and Tenth street, died at his home, the former Amos Kapp homestead, Saturday afternoon following an extended illness of more a year. [Note: his PA death certificate says he died at Danville State Hospital.]
A veteran Pennsylvania Railroad engineer, he was 59 years of age.
Born at Milton on July 27, 1891, he spent most of his life in Northumberland and vicinity. He was of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Bucher, who resided here at the time of their deaths. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for more than 35 years and when ill health forced retirement.
He was a member of the Sunbury Aerie of Eagles and Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church here.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lena Kistner, of town, and the following children; Huston, of Sunbury; William, at home; Mrs. Harrison Renninger, of Chicago, Ill.; Staff Sergeant George S., Jr., of Fort Bragg, N. C.; Helen, David and Harry at home. A sister, Mrs. Russell Young, 12th street, Kapp Heights, also survives as do three grandchildren.
A son, Staff Sergenat John Bucher, died in action with the Army while fighting on Okinawa during World War II.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the R. L.
Davis and Son funeral home, 309 Water street. Rev. William N. Smeltzer, pastor of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate and burial will be made at the Northumberland County Park Cemetery, Stonington. Friends may call at the funeral home tonight.


George married Lena Maud Kistner, daughter of Joseph Priestly Kistner and Mary Jane Hoover, on 29 Jun 1915 in Northumberland, Northumberland, PA.1 (Lena Maud Kistner was born on 1 Oct 1895 in Chillisquaque, Northumberland, PA, United States,6 died on 27 Apr 1969 in Shermans Dale, Perry, PA 6 and was buried in Stonington: Northumberland Memorial Park, Northumberland, PA 6.)
