Miss Bitner is a graduate of William Penn High School and is now employed at Middletown Air Service Command. Sgt. Beecher, a graduate of Carlisle High School, is stationed at Barksdale Field, La. He received his wings at Buckingham Army Air Field and recently spent a 15-day furlough with his parents.

Mrs. Bitner is the former Miss Matilda Steinberg. The ceremony will take place at 6 o'clock in the Pine Street Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. C. Ralston Smith officiating.
The bride will wear a two-piece dress of blue jersey with matching hat, and a corsage of good-time roses. Her maid of honor, Miss Eloise Cuddy, will wear a melon-colored dress, and a corsage of yellow roses. Paul Smith will be best man.
Following the ceremony, a dinner will be given at the bride's home, and Mr. and Mrs. Beecher will leave for a wedding trip to Virginia.
Miss Bitner is a graduate of William Penn High School, and is employed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Beecher, a graduate of Carlisle High School, was a technical sergeant in the U. S. Army Air Corps on duty in the European theatre, until his recent discharge.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Beecher, 1 Chestnut Drive, Carlisle, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. They were honored at a surprise party hosted by their children, Patricia McCoy, Illinois, Janice Sheaffer and Dennis Beecher, both of Carlisle. The couple were married Sept. 27, 1945. Mrs. Beecher is the former Geraldine Bitner.

He was retired from AMP Inc. in Carlisle and was a member of Hickorytown United Methodist Church in Middlesex Twp. and Carlisle Chapter 4377 of the American Association of Retired Persons. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Bitner Beecher; a son, Dennis K. of Gardners; two daughters, Patricia A. McCoy of McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey and Janice L. Sheaffer of Carlisle; two brothers, Harold of Centerville and Donald of Carlisle RD 5; a sister, Evelyn LeDane of Centerville; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1: 30 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Twp.

Lynn married Geraldine Marie Bitner, daughter of Stephen A. Bitner and Matilda M.
