The marriage of Dorothy Mae Beecher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward S. Beecher, 622 West King street, to Albert Bernard Sher, 563 West Market street, son of Mrs. Minnie Sher, Philadelphia, was solomnized at 11 a. m. yesterday at Temple Beth Israel.
Rabbi Marcus Kramer officiated at the single ring ceremony. Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white silk tulle over satin. A tiara of white flowers held a fingertip veil, and she carried a white bible with a white orchid.
Matron of honor, Mrs. Thomas Dauber, sister of the bride, 622 West King street, wore a yellow net over taffeta gown and carried a bouquet of mixed flowers. Robert H. Leepcr, 508 South Pershing avenue, was best man and Thomas Dauber, ushered.
A reception for about 50 guests took place at the bride's home. The couple will reside at 563 West Market street.
Graduated from William Penn Senior High school in 1945, the bride is employed by B. A. Wagner, realtor. The bridegroom, graduated from Temple university, Philadelphia, in 1949, is sports director at radio station WORK.

York - Dorothy B. Strayer, 91, of York, died on August 23, 2018 at The Brunswick at Longstown. She was the wife of the late John F. Strayer. Born in York on March 28, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Pauline (Barnhill) Beecher.

Dorothy was the public relations director for White Plains Hospital and was a costume designer at the York Little Theatre.

She is survived by a niece Jane Duke Powers and her husband Bill of Dallastown, a nephew Thomas W. Dauber and his wife Barbara of Spring Grove, a great nephew, a great niece and two great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Dauber in 1990.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Avenue, York. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery entrance at 10:45 am.
