The engagement of Miss Sally Lou Beecher to Rand L. Kann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard W. Kann of Newville R. D. 2, has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Beecher of Walnut Bottom.
Miss Beecher is a 1966 graduate of Big Spring High School and is a secretary at Letterkenny Army Depot.
Her fiance is a 1965 graduate of BSHS and is employed by Kinney Shoe Corporation, Carlisle.

Before an altar set with vases of white pompons and daisies, Sally Lou Beecher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Beecher of Walnut Bottom, became the bride of Rand Lynwood Kann, son of Mr. and Mrs Richard Kann, Newville R. D. 1. Rev. Andrew Kazar, assisted by Rev. Kenneth Clouser, performed the double ring ceremony on Oct. 3 at 2:30 p.m. in Centerville Lutheran Church.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride selected a gown of white peau de soie enhanced by crocheted lace appliques on the high collar, cuffs of the full bishop sleeves and empire waistline. An inverted back pleat formed the chapel length train and was accented by a large satin bow. Her chapel length veil was held by a band of satin and lace. She also wore pearl earrings which were a gift from the bridegroom. She carried a white Bible with roses and carnations.
Matron of honor, Mrs. Joann Ashburn of Reading, sister of the bride, wore a gown of navy blue crepe trimmed with double edged lace on the rolled collar and around the empire waist- tine. Her floor length navy veil was held by navy velvet loops ana she carried a single red rose with white streamers. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Donna Nye of Shippensburg, sister of the bride; Mrs. Mary-Lou Deutsch of Walnut Bottom; Mrs. Beverly Ziegler of Harrisburg; Mrs. Sharon Walters of Carlisle, and Tracy Nye, junior bridesmaid of Shippensburg. Their gowns were styled like the matron of honor's.
The flower girl was Jodi North and the ring bearers were Ronald Ashburn and Leonard Stouffer HI. The flower girl and the junior bridesmaid both carried baskets of white pompons and red roses.
Richard Kann II served as best man for his brother. Ushering the wedding guests were Wayne Bryner of Biglerville, Jerry Stover of Mt. Holly, Gerald Owings of Carlisle, Gary Hull of Fairfield and David Beecher of Walnut Bottom.
Organist, Cinda Clymans of Newville, and soloist, Mrs. Lurie Slaybaugh of Walnut Bottom, presented a recital consisting of "Because" and "How Great Thou Art." Other wedding music included "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet," "What the World Needs Now," "Summer Place" and "Hawaiian Wedding Song." The traditional wedding marches were used and the "Lord's Prayer" was sung during the ceremony.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the reception hall of the church.
The bride is a 1966 graduate of Big Spring High School and is employed as a secretary at Letterkenny Army Depot. The bridegroom is a 1965 graduate of Big Spring High School and is employed by Kinney Shoe Corporation. Following a wedding trip to Canada the couple will reside on Carlisle R. D. 4.
