Wearing a white slipper satin gown, Kathy Loyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McGhlome Loyd of Wanatah, became the bride of Bruce Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Beecher of La Crosse. The Rev. John Shortle conducted the evening ceremony Oct. 14 at LaCrosse United Methodist Church. The bride's ankle-length gown featured a four-tiered skirt gathered at the waistline, a square neckline and full-length sleeves. Maid of honor was the bride's sister Rhonda Campbell. Bridesmaids were the groom's sister Julie Beecher, the bride's cousin Donna Knapp and Andrea Huhnke. Best man was the groom's brother Terry Beecher. Groomsmen were Jeff Bailey, Bill Bailey, Doug Romine, Dave Bailey and Jim Kenyon. A reception followed the ceremony at the Wanatah American Legion Hall. The bride Is employed at Wickes Lumber in Wanatah. Her husband works for Duane Bailey Trucking Co. Following a honeymoon to Hawaii, the newlyweds are residing in Wanatah.

Obituary: Times of NW Indiana: obituary of Bruce Alan Beecher on 19 Jun 2013 in Munster, Lake, IN. ¹ BRUCE ALAN BEECHER WANATAH, IN Bruce Alan Beecher, 57, of Wanatah, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 at home. He was born January 29, 1956 in Valparaiso to Fred and Patricia Beecher and graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1974. Bruce was a member of the Teamsters Local #705 and then a member and Steward of #142. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and Sons of the American Legion Post #403 both in Wanatah. His family and friends were always first in his heart. On October 14, 1978 he married Katherine who survives along with their children: Heather (Adam) Stark of Valparaiso, Alan Beecher of Clarksville, TN, and Olivia Beecher of Wanatah; his mother, Patricia Beecher of LaCrosse; brother, Terry (Donna) Beecher of LaCrosse; sister, Julia (Russell) Dommermuth of LaCrosse; one granddaughter, Jasmine Stark; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services and burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church, 15555 S. 900 W., Wanatah, IN with Rev. Mark Brock officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kosanke Funeral Home, 105 E. Indiana Ave., Kouts, IN. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church.
