Stanley Alan Beecher, 68, of Englewood, Florida, and formerly of Rochester and Fort Wayne, passed away at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at Port Charlotte Medical Center, Port Charlotte, Florida.
Born Feb. 15, 1951 in Peru, Indiana he was the eldest of eight children born to Harold Larkin and Norma Jean Knauff Beecher. On Oct. 13, 2001 he married Barb Petrucci in Fort Wayne, who survives.
Stan graduated from Rochester High School in 1969 having been active in show choir, theatre, honor society, football all four years and serving as Student Council President his Senior year. He graduated from the University Of Notre Dame in 1973; and was a devoted, lifelong supporter of the Fighting Irish football and basketball teams. Stan was a member of Corinth Brethren Church near Twelve Mile.
He worked as a farmer for many year in partnership with his father and brothers on the Beecher Dairy Farm. He then worked at Dilling Group for 26 years as a Project Manager/Estimator.
Other survivors include his seven siblings, Steven Beecher and his wife Libby, Brattleboro Vermont; Susan Beecher of Indianapolis; Sherry Brunden and her husband Kurt, Media, Pennsylvania; Scott Beecher and his wife Lisa, Howe; Shirley Ott and her husband, Eric, Loganspsort; Paul Beecher and his wife, Joyce, Craigville; and Patricia Webb of Thailand. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, Casey Ott and Tori Brown; Terry and Jon Boggs; Larkin Webb; Nils Brunden; Keegan and Ridley Beecher; one great-niece, Adelyn and one great-nephew, Harrison. His stepdaughter, Laura (Michael) Igoe and grandchildren survive: Gabriella, Michael Jr., Olivia and Ally. Stepson, Anthony Petrucci, proceeded him in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5th, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Elks Lodge in Rochester, Indiana.
