2. Census in 1940 in Logansport, Cass, IN. ² The 1940 census recorded renting at 1800 Spear Street: Lyman Beecher, milright in machine shop, 53, living with wife Sylvia, 42; daughter Jennie Mae, 17; and son George, 10. Everyone was born in Indiana and was living in the same place in 1935.

3. Newspaper: Pharos-Tribune: Scooter Rider Badly Injured, 1 Jun 1948, Logansport, Cass, IN. ¹¹ George Beecher, 18, of 336 1/2 High Street, in Fair Condition at Memorial Hospital.

George Beecher, 18, of 336 1/2 High Street, was reported to be in a "fair" condition Tuesday morning at Memorial hospital where he is confined for treatment of severe head injuries suffered Monday evening in an auto-scooter crash.
Beecher was going south on Twelfth street when the scooter he was driving collied with a car driven by Alonzo Brown, 22, of Burrows. Brown was going north on Twelfth street and attempted to turn west on George street when the accident occurred.
Beecher and Patrick Appolonio, 15, of 1221 Woodlawn avenue, who were riding on the scooter were thrown to the pavement. Appollonio escaped with bruises on his right leg. Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Beecher, was taken to Memorial Hospital in a Chase-Miller ambulance for treatment of head injuries. The right side of the car and the front of the scooter were damaged.
