She was born September 16, 1929 in Roxbury to the late Paul and Pearl (Jones) Beecher and was the widow of Calvin A. Beam, Sr.
Winnifred was previously employed by the Valley Baking Company, Leader Nursing Home and the Musselman Canning factory. She was a life member of Penn Township Fire Company where she was a former President of the Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of Huntsdale Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by: six sons, Calvin A. (wife Linda) Beam, Jr. of Landisburg, Edward K. Beam of Walnut Bottom, Alan R. (wife Beverly) Beam of Loysville, Kenneth B. (wife Karen) Beam of Annville, Daniel L. Beam of Newville and Thomas G. (wife Cathy) Beam of Newville; a daughter, Kathy Jo (husband James) Day of Gardners; two half brothers, James S. Beecher of Chambersburg and Edward Beecher of Carlisle; twelve grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Winnifred was preceded in death by a brother, Glen E. Beecher, Sr., daughter-in-law, Deborah Beam and sister-in-law, Emma Beecher.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Road, Carlisle, PA with Pastor Darlene Stouffer and Rev. Bob Baldwin co-officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huntsdale Church of the Brethren, 170 Church Road, Carlisle, PA 17015 or to Penn Township Volunteer Fire Co., 1750 Pine Road, Newville, PA 17241.
