Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except Frederick Sr. in Prussia.

Census in 1900 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. 3 The 1900 census recorded at 413 Walnut Street: Ellen Stains, widow, 39, born Nov 1861, living as a boarder in the household of Margaret Hoffman, widow, 75, born Dec 1825, and her son Thomas, single, 41, Dec 1859, cripple. Obituary: Harrisburg Telegraph: obituary of Mrs. Ellen Beard on 21 Aug 1937 in Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 4 Mrs. Ellen Rebecca Beard, 78, former resident of Steelton, died yesterday at the home of her son, H. A. Stains, Chambersburg, R. D. 4. Surviving in addition to her son are one daughter, Mrs. Guy Behman, Steelton; three sisters, Mrs. Charles McGlinn, Annville; Mrs. Kate Smith, Lebanon, and Mrs. Clara Anthoy, York; three brothers, William and Harry Fink, Annville, and David Fink, Harrisburg, and two grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Wilt funeral chapel, 50 South Front street, Steelton. The Rev. Hugh E. Yost, St. John's Lutheran Church, Steelton, will officiate. Burial will be in Oberlin Cemetery. The body may be viewed tomorrow evening at the funeral chapel.


Ellen married Adam Stains Sr., son of Thomas Stains and Catharine. (Adam Stains Sr. was born on 1 Jan 1829 in , , PA 11 12, christened on 1 Jan 1830 in Lebanon: Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebanon, PA,1 died on 13 Feb 1900 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA 12 13 and was buried in Lebanon: Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, PA 12.)
