Aged Resident Is Called Home
-----
Mrs. Mahala Beher Died today Noon at Her Home on Second Street
-----
In the death of Mrs. Mahala Beher, widow of the late Dr. E. D. Beher, who died at her home on West Second street at 12 o'clock today, one of the oldest and best known women of Rushville passed to her reward.

Mrs. Beher was born in Rush county 77 years ago, and has lived here all her life, and was the youngest daughter of fifteen children of the late Rev. James Havens, the pioneer Methodist preacher of this county.

In 1858, deceased became the wife of Dr. E. D. Beher, who had just returned from the Ohio Medical College, and opened up an office in this city, and later a drug store which became popular in view of the fact that Dr. Beher prepared many of his own remedies, which are yet on the market here and elsewhere. To this union were born two children, one daughter and one son -- Mrs. F. B. Johnson, of this city, and Ed. Beher, of Muncie.

Mrs. Beher became a member of the Methodist church in early years and has clung to that faith throughout her entire life, and as a living example of Christian womanhood only words of praise are spoken of her.

The funeral services will be held at the residence, 221 West Second street, Friday afternoon, by Dr. V. W. Tevis. Burial in East Hill cemetery.
