  Noted events in his life were:

1. Obituary: Mr. Daniel B. Herr died at home, 419 Strawberry avenue. He leaves a wife and several children. Mr. Herr was a brother of ex-Senator Herr and Gilbert Herr, a former resident.

In 1861 Mr. Herr was appointed a postal clerk in Harrisburg by the late George Bergner, postmaster, and held the position until, President Johnson's administration, when General Knipe became postmaster. When Mr. Bergner was re-appointed in 1869, he gave Mr. Herr his old place, which he retained until the last change in the post office administration.

Then he was employed as a gate man at the Pennsylvania railroad station. He was a gentleman of courteous manners and had many friends.

The funeral of Mr. Herr took place at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at his late residence.

2. Obituary: Harrisburg Telegraph: obituary Daniel B. Herr on 27 Jan 1890 in Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 3 Saturday afternoon Daniel B. Herr died at his home, No. 419 Strawberry avenue. He suffered a second attack of paralysis last September and had been confined to the house since that time. He was about 49 years of age and had long been a sufferer from rheumatism. He leaves a wife and several children. He was a brother of ex-Senator Herr and Gilbert Herr, a former resident. In 1861 Mr. Herr was appointed a postal clerk in the Harrisburg office by the late George Bergner, postmaster, and held the position until President Johnson's administration, when General Knipe became postmaster.
