John and Luella were married for 14 years and she had birthed 2 children by 1900. Everone and their parents were born in Indiana except Daniel was erroneously listed as born in Kentucky, and his parents birthplace is blank.

The census column records John and Luella were married for 24 years and she had birthed 2 children both alive in 1910. Everyone and their parents were born in Indiana.

BROOKSTON - John C. Nagle, 83, of Rt. 3, Brookston, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, apparently of a heart attack. Born in Brookston, he was reared near here, and lived near Battle Ground most of his life. A 1921 graduate of Purdue University, he was a retired farmer. His first marriage was in 1922 to Helen L. Smith. She died in 1966. In 1968 he married Minnie Cain, and she survives. Mr. Nagle was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of Federated Church, American Legion Post 251, Masonic Lodge, and Order of Eastern Star, all at Brookston. He also was a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Merou Grotto in Lafayette, and Monticello 40&8. Surviving with the widow are a daughter, Mrs. William (Helen) Pyke of Candenton, Mo.; and one stepson, Hugh Cain of Lafayette.
