Everyone was born in Indiana. Sumner's father was born in Virginia and mother in Massachusetts. Susan's father was born in North Carolina and mother in Kentucky.

2. Census in 1910 in Otterbein, Benton, IN. 7 The 1910 census recorded owning a home: Sumner W. Mrs. Edith Baker Garrott, wife of State Senator I. Flovd Garrott of Battle Ground, was found dead at tho family home early Thursday morning, having ended her life after many months of suffering with a nervous breakdown that had shattered her health. Her deathi was a great shock to the entire community in which she was held in highest esteem, her entire life having been spent in Tippecanoe and Benton counties. She had been ill since March, 1931.
Born at Otterbein June 1, 1889, she was a daughter of Sumner W. and Susan Alice Baker, and after attending the Otterbein schools she came to Lafayette to enter high school, graduating in 1906. In 1910 she received a bachelor of science degree from Purdue university and her marriage to Mr. Garrott, farmer, banker and legislator, took place June 15, that year. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and the Rebekah order.
Surviving at the family home at Battle Ground where much of her married life was spent are her husband and three children: Alice Elizabeth, John Floyd and Glen Baker Garrott. She also leaves two brothers: Linnaeus E. Baker, of Long Beach, Calif., and Ernest S. Baker, of Lafayette: and two sisters: Pearl Baker Johnson, of Otterbein, and Bernice Baker Heavilon, West Lafayette. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the family home.


Edith married Isaac Floyd Garrott, son of Isaac L. Garrott and Hannah J.
