Obituary: Journal and Courier: obituary of Elmer Laird on 19 Jan 1951 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe, IN, USA. ⁴ OTTERBEIN, Jan. 19 -- Elmer (Doc) Laird, 82, died in St. Elizabeth hospital, Lafayette, at 7 p. m. Thursday. He had been in failing health a year. Born in Otterbein, he had spent his entire life in this community; he married Eva May Vencill, who survives.
He was a former marshal of Otterbein and in his early years was a member of the former National Horsethief Detective association here. He was a member of the Otterbein Methodist church.
