John and Rebecca were born in born in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. John's real estate was valued at $1500 and his personal estate $400. The post office was Kansasville.
Next door is John's son Gustave Becher, farmer, 26, with wife Mary, 27; son Edward, 2; and daughter Rosetta, 6 months old Gustave was born in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany, Mary in England, and their children in Wisconsin. Gustave's real estate was valued at $4000 and personal estate $1200.

3. Census in 1880 in Dover, Racine, Wisconsin, USA. ⁵ The 1880 census recorded John C. Beecher, notary public, 68, living with wife Rebecka, invalid, 66; and granddaughter Augusta, housekeeper, 15. John and Rebecka and their parents were born in Prussia, as well as Augusta's parents. Augusta was born in Illinois.
On the same census page is Gus Beecher, farmer, 34, living with wife Mary A.; son Edwin, 11; daughter Rozett, 9; daughter Lorette, 8; daughter Clarabell, 7; son George, 5; daughter Stella M., 4; son Frank, 2; and daughter Berl, 3 months old born in February 1880. Gus and his parents were born in Prussia. Mary and her parents were born in England. The children were born in Wisconsin.

Mrs. Gus Bucher, who called to Citronelle on account of the sickness of her mother Mrs. John Sumpter, writes that she is still very sick.

With them were son Edwin G., farmer, 31, Nov 1868, single; George A., farmer, 26, Apr 1874; son Frank W., farmer, 21, Apr 1879; daughter Birl P., 19, Feb 1881; son Roy W., farm laborer, 17, Oct 1882; son Ray G., 15, Nov 1884; and son Ross, 12, Nov 1887. Gustaves and his parets were born in Germany, Mary and her parents in England, and their children in Wisconsin. Gustaves immigrated in 1848 and was naturalized. Mary immigrated in 1854.

With them: son Edwin, farmer, 41, single; son Roy, farm laborer, 29, single; and son Ray, farm laborer, 25. Gustaves and his parents were born in Germany. Mary Anna and her parents were born in England. Their children were all born in Wisconsin.
Listed before Gustavus is son George Beecher, farmer, 35, married for 2 years to wife Emma, 24. They were born in Wisconsin, George's father in Germany and mother in England, and Emma's parents in Holland.

Gus and his parents were born in Germany. He immigrated in 1858 and was naturalized in 1865. Mary and her parents were born in England. She immigrated in 1860 and was naturalized in 1880. The sons were born in Wisconsin.

Mrs. Mary Ann Beecher, 88, Passes Away at Her Home.
UNION GROVE, Wis. - Mrs. Mary Ann Beecher aged 87
passed away at her home at noon Wednesday Oct 15, following an illness of some weeks. She was the daughter of John and Mary Ann (Cheeseman) Sumpter born in Lincolnshire, England and came with the family to America in 1854 and located in the town of Yorkville. She was married to Gustaves Beecher and their married life was passed in farming and in and around this vicinity. After Mr. Beecher's death about nine years ago Mrs. Beecher came to the village to reside.
Of their family of children there survive four daughters and four sons. They are: Mrs. Ed Stevens, Iowa; Mrs. Belle Fischer, Lake Geneva; Mrs. Rose Blackburn, Racine; Mrs. Beryl Kutz, George and Roy Beecher, Union Grove; Ray of Franksville, and Ross of Lyons. A number of grandchildren and two brothers Alfred and Alex Sumpter of Union and sister Mrs. Franny Murgatroy of Wisconsin Rapids also survive. Funeral will be held at the Rodes Funeral Home in Union Grove on Saturday afternoon. Burial will be in the Union Grove cemetery.
