Mr. and Mrs. Wiloughby Knerr of No. 17 North Madison street, were agreeably surprised Sunday by their children and friends with an elaborate turkey dinner in honor of their 40th wedding anniversary. MRS. WILLOUGHBY KNERR

Mrs. Willoughby Knerr, (nee Martha Schlicher), died at her home, No. 17 North Madison street, following a lengthy illness with a complication of diseases. Last Thursday morning she suffered a stroke of apoplexy and since that time she had been unconscious. She was born in Lowhill township, a duaghter of the late Jas. and Caroline schlicher. Twelve years ago she came to this city with her family. She was a faithful member of Cedarville Reformed congregation. Besides the husband, these children survive: Mrs. Francis Steckel, Catasauqua; George E., Wescoesville; Mrs. Harvey Kocher, Mrs. Arthur Cavanaugh, Mrs. Ray Moyer, Robert J. John, Grace, Allentown and Mrs. Oliver Kocher, Fogelsville. There are ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held from the late home on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, with interment in Cedarville cemetery.


Martha married Willoughby Knerr, son of Jonas Knerr and Susanna Muehlhausen, on 4 Dec 1869 in , Lehigh, PA.
