Beecher, of near Newville, Pa., reported missing in action September 1. It was later learned that he is a prisoner in Camp Rastatt, Germany. He is a member of Company G., 112th Infantry. Private Herman Beecher, a brother, is also serving his country in France, and is a member of the 103rd Ammunition Train.

Beecher, 88, of 2910 Dickinson Ave., Camp Hill, died Tuesday in Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township. He was a retired carpenter for Pennsy Supply Co., attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 945, both of Wormleysburg. He is survived by his wife, Anna L. Beecher; a daughter, Jean I. Beecher, at home, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Musselman Funeral Home in Lemoyne with the Rev. Karl Fetterman officiating. Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Township. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Herman married Anna Laura Woods, daughter of Francis Wayne Woods and Mary Minerva Clouse, on 15 Apr 1922 in Chambersburg, Franklin, PA.1 (Anna Laura Woods was born on 1 Jan 1900 in Newville, Cumberland, PA,38 39 40 41 42 died on 29 Jun 1989 in Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA 39 40 41 42 and was buried in Camp Hill: Rolling Green Cemetery, Cumberland, PA 42.)
