Dinner for Couple Married 57 Years

Mr. and Mrs. Purd A. Geesey, 30 South Rockburn street, were tendered a dinner recently in observance of their 57th wedding anniversery. The couple was married by the late Rev. Dr. George W. Enders in Christ Lutheran church parsonage on Aug. 30, 1891. Mrs. Geesey was the former Miss Nora Annie Beecher of York. Mr. Geesey has been associated with the Southern Mutal Fire Insurance company for the past 48 years. He has been its secretary for many years. Those who attended the dinner at Hotel Yorktowne, included Mr. and Mrs. John E. Geesey and son Jack; Mr. and Mrs. George F. Wagner, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Stein, Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Geesey and deaughter Jeanette; Dr. Adolph Neupauer, of Philadelphia; Mr. and Mrs. Purd A. Geesey, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dellinger, Mrs. Nora S. Kunkel, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Schriver and Mr. and Mrs. J. Ray Zarfoss and daughter Linda Sue.

12. Obituary: Obituary of Mrs. Nora A. Geesey on 27 Aug 1951 in York, York, PA. ⁹ Mrs. Nora Anna Geesey, widow of Purd A. Geesey, 30 South rockburn street, died at 5:45 p. m. Saturday at York Hospital after a week's illness. She was 78 years old. Mrs. Geesey was born in McKnightstown, Adams county, daughter of the late Calvin and Martha Eicholtz Beecher. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church. Surviving are two sons, Roy L. Geesey, Chestnut Hill, and John E. Geesey, 29 South Rockburn street; a daughter, Mrs. George Wagner, 29 South Keesey street; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer A. Schriver, York, and E. Grayce Beecher, Evanston, Ill. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 East Market street. The Rev. H. Walter Wehner, her pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
